Lucrezia Reichlin is Professor of Economics at London Business School and Non-resident Fellow at the Brussels think-tank Bruegel. Reichlin is an expert in macroeconomics, monetary policy and econometric modelling.
She has received numerous awards for her academic achievements. She is a Fellow of the British Academy, of the Econometric Society and the European Economic Association. She is an Honorary Foreign Fellow of the American Economic Association and Foreign Correspondent of the Académie des Sciences Morales et Politiques in Paris.
Reichlin’s career has combined both research and policy. From 2005 to 2008, she was Director General for Research at the European Central Bank, over the years she has been consulting in various capacities for many central banks including the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve. She has been a trustee of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Foundation from 2018 t0 2023. In that capacity she has led the work for the establishment of the International Sustainability Standard Board (ISSB). She is a member of the National Productivity Council in France.
Reichlin has also considerable experience in the private sector. She has been a board member of several financial institutions amongst which UniCredit and Morgan Stanley International. She has founded her own company – “Now-casting Economics” in 2011. The company services financial investors by providing high frequency, real time forecast on the state economy.
Reichlin is involved in several non-profit organizations and research institutions as board member and advisor. She has been a trustee and research director of the Center of Policy Research (CEPR) She has founded the Ortygia Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports education in the South of Italy. She is a regular contributor of the Italian daily Corriere della Sera and of Project Syndicate.
