Yulia Navalnaya

Human Rights Activist, Chairwoman of the Advisory Board, Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK)

Yulia Navalnaya, a freedom fighter and human rights activist from Russia, was born in Moscow on 24 July 1976. She holds a master's degree in International Economic Relations from the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics.

Together with her husband, the late Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, she played an active role in the struggle for democratic change in Russia. Following Alexei Navalny’s death, she announced her decision to continue his mission and has since become one of the central figures in the Russian pro-democracy movement.

Today, Yulia Navalnaya serves as the Chairwoman of the Advisory Board of the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK) — the largest Russian opposition nonprofit established by Alexei Navalny. In June 2024, she was also elected Chairwoman of the Human Rights Foundation, the world’s leading organization supporting dissidents and freedom advocates.

Yulia Navalnaya is very involved in international advocacy on behalf of her constituency — millions of Russian opposed to Vladimir Putin and his war of aggression, fighting for peaceful, democratic Russia. In this capacity Yulia appears frequently as a keynote speaker at major international forums, as well as travels around the planet to meet world leaders and fellow democracy activists. She’s driven by the hope of her late husband that millions of her supporters share: Russia deserves better future and can and will one day become a happy and prosperous country.
