Professor Dr Peter Bofinger has been teaching at the University of Würzburg since 1992 as Professor of Monetary and International Economics; since 2020 as Senior Professor. In 2003 and 2004, he was 1st Vice President of the University of Würzburg.
From March 2004 to February 2019, he was a member of the German Council of Economic Experts. This makes him the member with the longest term of office in the Council's history.
Peter Bofinger is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research, London and Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Macroeconomics and Business Cycle Research, Düsseldorf. He is Chairman of the Alumni Association of the University of Würzburg.
