Dr Annika von Mutius is the co-founder and CEO of the Berlin-based HR tech startup Empion and serves as a board member of the German AI Association.

She holds a PhD in mathematics and, prior to founding her own company, worked for a robotics startup in Silicon Valley.

Alongside her entrepreneurial activities, she is a member of the advisory boards of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and the Federal Ministry for Digital Transformation and Government Modernisation.

Annika has been recognized among Forbes’ “30 Under 30 Europe” and named one of the Handelsblatt’s “People of the Year,” among other distinctions.
