Chris Lunday is a reporter at POLITICO Europe based in Berlin. Since January 2025, he has been covering German foreign, defense, and EU policy as well as transatlantic relations. His reporting focuses on both domestic and international developments and analyzes their implications for Europe’s geopolitical position.
Prior to joining POLITICO Europe, he completed a traineeship at the Axel Springer Academy of Journalism and Technology (Business Insider) from January 2023 to December 2024. During his studies, he worked as a student assistant in the editorial department of Business Insider Deutschland from February 2021 to October 2022.
Chris Lunday holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Communication from the University of Applied Sciences (HTW) Berlin, which he completed in 2022. He previously earned his university entrance qualification in Business and Administration from the Vocational School Bonn-Duisdorf in 2018. He obtained his high school diploma from Edmond North High School in Oklahoma City, USA, in 2013.
He has extensive journalistic experience in interviewing, news writing, and reportage, as well as expertise in open-source intelligence and investigative research. He is proficient in translation between German, English, and Spanish and works confidently with Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Audition. He is fluent in German and English and has working proficiency in Spanish.
