We are delighted to welcome Heiko Thoms to Unternehmertag 2026.

As German Ambassador to Ukraine and one of Europe’s most experienced diplomats, Heiko Thoms brings more than 25 years of expertise at the intersection of foreign policy, security and international cooperation.

From his years at the United Nations and NATO to his leadership roles in Brazil, Brussels and Berlin — including his time as State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Finance, where he coordinated Germany’s financial assistance for Ukraine — he offers a uniquely comprehensive view of Europe’s strategic challenges.

Prior to taking up his post in Kyiv, he served as Chairman of BaFin and sat on the Supervisory Board of KfW-IPEX Bank. He also chaired the Financial Stability Committee and represented Germany at the World Bank and the EBRD. He is also the founding Chairman of the Brussels Institute for Geopolitics.
