Gerhard Schröder

Former Chancellor of Germany

Gerhard Schröder (born April 7, 1944, Mossenberg) was chancellor of Germany from 1998 to 2005 and SPD chairman from 1999 to 2004. After studying law, Gerhard Schröder worked as a lawyer in Hanover. From 1980 to 1986 and again from 1998 to 2005 he was member of the German Bundestag, and from 1990 to 1998 he was Minister-President of Lower Saxony. After resigning from office in 2005, Gerhard Schröder has started to work as a lawyer in Hanover again. He has accepted honorary offices like being member of the board of trustees of Bundesliga-Stiftung which supports children, disabled people as well as athletes of other sports and promotes inclusion.
