Dr. Bertrand Piccard is a Swiss adventurer and pioneer and was the first man who flew around the World in a balloon and in a solar airplane. Born into a dynasty of explorers and scientists who conquered the heights and depths of our planet, Piccard seemed predestined to pursue one of the greatest family adventures of the 20th century. After 13 years of work and more than 170 Million Swiss Francs, Piccard and his team have made history with flying around the World in the Solar Airplane Solar Impulse 2. He is President of the Winds of Hope humanitarian foundation and Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations. Piccard is married and father of three daughters.
