Dr. Theodor Weimer

Dr. Theodor Weimer has been Chief Executive Officer of Deutsche Börse AG since January 2018. After his studies in economics, business administration and geography in Tübingen and St. Gallen and after completing his doctorate, Weimer started his career in 1988 as a Management Consultant for McKinsey & Company, Düsseldorf. Seven years later he moved to Bain & Company in Munich where he was appointed as a Senior Partner and a member of the Global Management Committee of Bain & Company, Boston. In 2001 he joined Goldman Sachs in Frankfurt as Managing Director, and from 2004 onwards he was Partner in the Investment Banking Division. In 2007, Weimer moved to UniCredit Group, Milan, to join the Markets & Investment Banking Division as Head of Global Investment Banking. As of January 2009 he was also appointed as CEO/Spokesman of the Management Board of HVB (HypoVereinsbank). In 2011, Weimer became additionally a member of the Business Executive Committee of Unicredit Group, followed by his designation as a member of the Executive Committee of Unicredit Group in 2013. Theodor Weimer left the Unicredit Group end of 2017.
