Christophe Maire is an entrepreneur focusing on consumer product innovation in digital media and mobile internet. Christophe founded and is currently CEO of txtr.com, the largest eBooks distribution network in Europe with shops launching in 20 countries.
He founded gate5 (mobile nav), which he sold to Nokia in 2006 and which today employs more than 1000 staff. He was cofounder of Plazes.com, which pioneered “check-in” (to Nokia in 2008). He also co-founded PhoneDeck.com and Eye’Em.com. As a Swiss citizen, Christophe lives in Berlin with his wife and 2 children. Christophe was involved in the early days of Brands4Friends, StudiVZ, Plista, Barcoo, ReadMill, AppAware, Toostep and SoundCloud where he sits on the board of directors.
