Henrik Ekdahl

Managing Director IWC Schaffhausen

Henrik Ekdahl has been working for the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen since 2006. After finishing high school in Sweden in 1987, he worked as a Lieutenant in the Dragoons of the Royal Lifeguard in Stockholm, Sweden, before studying business administration at the university in Gothenburg. After a post-graduate year at the Universität des Saarlandes in Saarbrücken, he joined the Leica Camera AG in 1996 as Assistant to the President Marketing & Sales International. After two years Henrik moved to Munich, joined Richemont and became Product Manager for Cartier watches in Germany and a number of surrounding countries. The next step was Communication Manager for the same brand and area, followed by a move to the BMW Group in 2002, where the first position was focused on the Brand Strategy of Rolls-Royce and the second was an ex-patriate assignment as Marketing Manager to BMW Nordic in Stockholm. In 2006 he decided to accept the offer to return to Richemont and became Managing Director for IWC Schaffhausen based in Munich. This position has developed considerably over the last years and he is meanwhile in charge of three subsidiaries located in Munich, Moscow and Istanbul and a total of more than 30 countries. Since April 2019, he is additionally in charge of all distribution issues for all Richemont watch brands based in Munich and Istanbul.
